Chevy Fit4Life Sunday Funday!

*Warning: this post is highly visual…lots of pics!*

Where to begin?! Sunday was amazing thanks to the Chevy Fit4Life event!

To start the day, I met my friend, GPP at YouFit in Brandon. To explain her nickname…GPP stands for Grad Party Partner. We met in middle school, became friends in high school and eventually had our high school graduation parties as one! Thanks to Facebook, we could see what the other one was up to, lol. And thanks to GPP, she recently reached out to me for some fitness advice…I was flattered. 🙂 Now, we work out together 1-2 times a week! Sunday morning I decided to push us both. Recently, on Pinterest I came across a picture of my “dream legs” so I thought I’d incorporate some lunges.

Dream Legs

We ran 1 mile in quarter increments (made my quarters faster each time) and did 10-12 lunges with weights in between. My system worked well since we were at different paces. Following that we did a few machines focusing on our guns. Ended the workout with my fave: the plank. I heard from GPP yesterday…and she doesn’t hate me because of the lunges. 🙂

Off to Tampa! Caught a few rays with a friend before heading to the Chevy Fit4Life event starting in Hyde Park.

I was fortunate enough to find out about the Chevy event from SnF’s Facebook post. 🙂 It was only open to a limited amount of spots and I got in! This was also a nice little push to get my blog started too.
We started at Lifestyles with John the trainer; this guy meant business. Did a quick quarter mile run around the block and then we kicked it into gear with a bootcamp. And the cycles started: burpees, lunges, kettlebells, squats, pushups, planks…just to name a few. Luckily with our Insanity experience, SnF and I were good. 🙂

Light jog…
Push ups!

Kettlebells!
More lunges!

Abs!
At the end of the bootcamp, they offered a plank challenge; whoever won would be able to drive one of the Chevy loaner cars all week! PQ was soooo close to winning! And that’s how she got her nickname…Plank Queen!!
Quick shower and onto the next place!
FitLife Foods graciously fed us a tasty lunch. Having frequented there before,
I was able to give some suggestions.
The BBQ and Mac&Cheese is amazing…and SnF agreed. 🙂
They’ve recently added some new menu items, including an amazing cheeseburger! It was so, so good, can’t wait to have it again! While there, we also got a quick view of the back…where all the magic happens. They have an assembly line set up where they prepare the meals. The trays were so pretty with all the fresh veggies. 🙂
Amazing burger.
The back…
Next, we hit up Painting with a Twist to paint! We had the opportunity to vote on the picture that we painted…and this is what was chosen:
Some action shots…
I was really concentrating…
Me and PQ in our colorful painting aprons
The group with our finished masterpieces 🙂
I didn’t follow directions 🙂 This is my finished product.

But wait…the day isn’t done yet! We all head back to Lifestyles to regroup, get some group shots…and pass out the cars! I was lucky enough to drive off with the Traverse; and I get to have it back again at the end of July too!

My ride for a couple days 🙂
Group shot
To finish off the day…I raced over to Curtis Hixon Park for yoga. They offer free yoga in the park every Sunday afternoon. There was a big group this week…and the view of downtown and my alum across the river was beautiful.

Whew! That was a lot…thank goodness is week is a short work week! I’m house/dog sitting with the one & only WJG.
Here’s a shot of one of the pups:
Meet Arthur 🙂
