This week was crazy. Last week was crazy. Hence, my blogging is behind, but there are worse things…so time to play catch up!
Followed last week’s training schedule pretty close…
Wednesday= 5 miles
Saturday= 10 miles
Friday night I met CB for sushi & happy hour, which was amazing. It’s a small place down the street from my office. I frequent there & am surprised they don’t know my name. However, that night, I jinxed myself…I mentioned that I was afraid of oversleeping the next morning. Once home, I set multiple alarms…and woke up at 5:30AM the next morning. Blue Sharks starts at 5:30AM. Bummer. Luckily, I’m a planner and had everything laid out & ready. I knew that if I didn’t get out there and make this happen…10 miles would not get done. I hauled ass and got ready…made it to to the parking lot by 6AM.
Fred is awesome; he’s the individual who organizes and runs the Tampa Blue Shark Running Team; out of the goodness of his heart, he does this for free. Along the 9 mile route around Davis Island, Fred sets up 3 pit stops with water & Gatorade. Since I was starting 30 minutes late, I was pleasantly surprised that all the water station were still out! Thanks Fred! I got in my 10 miles…average pace was 10:43. Woah.
Week 5 of marathon training complete.
Got creative with Greek yogurt last week. Bought a 12 oz size of Fage skim yogurt and a packet of ranch salad dressing mix. Blend together and voila! Amazing dip! This week, I’ve been dipping away with carrots and pretzel sticks.
Since the veggie dip was such a hit…I knew there had to be a way to make a fruit dip…
Instagram is my new addiction, sorry Facebook, I like all the pictures. Feel free to find me…@caitlynconnolly…but I am private so I’ll have to approve you. 🙂 On IG, I found a fellow Shakeology user who made a chocolate, cheesecake with raspberry shake. Woah! Luckily, she shared her secret with me…jello pudding mix! Why didn’t I think of that?! So to the store I went…vanilla, cheesecake, white chocolate and banana pudding bought! I first added a teaspoon of cheesecake to my tropical strawberry Shakeology…phenomenal.
Now back to the fruit dip…mixed 12 oz skim Greek yogurt, vanilla pudding packet with some coconut milk and voila! Tried this with animal crackers…yum. Can’t wait to make this during strawberry season. 🙂
Lastly, I got a new toy!! Splurged and bought the Polar FT40 heart rate monitor watch. And it’s white! 🙂
Quite a few fellow Beachbody coaches on IG put their post workouts with this beauty, and I’d been wanting one to know how many calories I was burning with Insanity & Rockin’ Body. So far…I love it!
Final two notes…
Dean Karnazes celebrated his birthday on August 24th…and he liked my post. 🙂
And look at this pic I found! I was pretending to be a pirate with my roommates bird, Apollo. But look at my cheeks! So happy that I started living healthy 24-7 with better eating & exercise. Contact me if you want to make that lifestyle change as well! It’s worth it!!
