I’m breaking records. Never before did I think that I would run farther than a half marathon distance…let along set a goal of running three marathons in 50 days.
Last week I ran 15. Did 7 miles before meeting up with the Blue Shark group and continued with the full loop. Held a decent pace for the all those miles and my legs felt good following.
Yesterday I ran 18 miles. I’m so proud of myself for completing it. It was hard. It was hot. It was humid. I ran out of energy at the end. But I got it done. I did it alone and without music so I had plenty of time to think and contemplate life. Lol.
During this training run I was able to figure out some plans for my first full. I now know everywhere I need to put Body Glide. I found new energy beans that work! I ran with Nuun and it worked so well with my Sport Beans. And I now realize that I run and breathe better without bothering with music. But I was really craving a beat to run to with only 3 miles left…and I was right by my car…so I grabbed it.
And…an ice bath is the way to go! I had never tried one before and randomly thought of testing it out. So glad I did…my legs don’t feel like I ran 18 miles!! Did the bath for 15 minutes and wore my compression sleeves the rest of the day. I will definitely will be doing another icing after my 20…and maybe after next weeks 14 too, lol.
I can’t believe I’m almost done with my training. Next weekend is 14 miles…then 20 miles, eek!
I also decided today of a goal time for my first full. Or…4:59:59 would be amazing. If the weather permits, I feel that I could keep a 11:45 pace for the race. My 20 miler will be a test!
