RUN CHICAGO.

I am very HAPPY to report that I’ll be running the  CHICAGO MARATHON this October with LIVESTRONG!
I get to go back!!
During my half marathon training of 2011, I had the opportunity to visit Chicago with Jim and run part of the Chicago Marathon. Since he is from Chicago — he had it all planned out for us. As part of his marathon training, he did 19 miles; and as part of my half training, I did 11 miles. We were able to find bibs, so we were legit runners and we were off!
This was my first visit to Chicago — and it was a perfect way to see the city — run through it!! Hands down, best – race – ever. Amazing crowd support, plenty of aid stations, race is VERY organized, superior expo and the most amazing route and views to run. Obviously, I LOVED it. I didn’t want to stop at 11 miles — I had plenty more in me even though it was just a training run. But Jim specifically planned where I should cut out of the race to meet him, so stopping at the 11 mile mark was a must…
Fast forward to this year — I’m a stronger runner, I have 3 marathons under my belt, and I’m anxious to do another one & set a new PR under five hours…
I attempted to get into Chicago via the lotto after their mishap with registration and no luck. I’m 99% sure that I’ll be running a marathon a few weeks before Chicago, so I’ll have that training done! I had tossed around the idea in my head of running for a charity — and while entering tedious contracts at work one morning, I just bit the bullet.
I’ve decided to run with LIVESTRONG to make Chicago happen! I have always loved the organization of LIVESTRONG and what they provide & what they stand for — so I’m very excited to join their team and raise awareness for their cause! My goal is to raise $1500 for LIVESTRONG, so please join me in my efforts to inspire — raise funds for the fight against cancer — and RUN CHICAGO!!
I’m utilizing the awesome organization IR4C to help me raise $$; they assist with the process of raising $$, getting the word out, and even allow me to run other races for the cause of Chicago!
Thank you in advance for any contributions towards my goal of Chicago!
