Protein-Packed Cold Brew Smoothie ::: #SummerStrong

Happy Social Media Day!

With just a few minutes to spare — it still counts, right?? Does to me!

Jumping right in, #keepingITreal, I am super excited about this post. Why? Because it’s about COFFEE & PROTEIN! [everybody cheers!]

But really, in the last six years, I have really become a coffee snob and Cold Brew is my current most favorite thing ever. Any coffee shop I step into, including Starbucks, Cold Brew is ordered. Although I wish I had Cold Brew on draft in my house, I do not. But I did find an easy way to make it myself.

I have been making my own Cold Brew for a few weeks with the recipe above, and it is still a winner! *tip: I purchased a pack of cheesecloths from target and cut up one into squares, once I measure out the grounds, I secure them with a rubber band. Once the seeping is complete, just toss! Saves the mess of reusing the cloth each time.

Now. I promised a smoothie and I will deliver!

*thanks to the relationship with the Fit Approach and Bob’s Red Mill I did receive protein powders  to try for myself in exchange for a review, blog post & social media love. All opinions are my own.

I am in the process of making more habits stick, one of those being to make one of my first meals of the day protein. Thanks to Bob’s Red Mill Protein Powder makes this a cinch!

Super duper easy, because that is how I like things in the kitchen!

Once you have made your cold brew for the week, you are all set! Mixing together your protein & caffeine, double whammy! Plus, Bob’s Red Mill products are gluten freeorganic, and have probiotics — all the goodness you need in the morning! You really can’t go wrong with a smoothie that only has four ingredients, its a quick recipe to get you out the door & on your way. *tip: I did add some almond creamer to make it a tad sweeter.

There was some experimentation with different flavors of Bob’s Red Mill protein, I found vanilla was the best for this recipe since it still allowed you to really taste the cold brew. And don’t forget to snag your coupon

    I have been making a similar smoothie (I use Orgain powder, although I’ve really loved seeing everyone’s Bob’s Red Mill posts and have entered the giveaways). I have used chocolate occasionally and that makes it taste like a mocha frappucino, but I really like it with vanilla. I too am kind of a coffee snob these days and smoothies are the BEST in the hot summer months!

    Cold brew is an awesome option for a hot day! Love your practical and inventive way of doing the brew, too. Here’s another idea – did you know you can get a little one cup filter plastic device that sits on your cup and you pour the coffee into a filter paper? It’s a bit less messy, but probably the same result. Keep enjoying your coffee!
