*disclaimer: thanks to my relationship with The Straz Center and the Tampa Bay Bloggers, I did receive the opportunity to see Hello Dolly in exchange for blog & social media love. all opinion are my own.
If you enjoy a ‘feel good’ story and a little touch of Disney-esque, then make sure to add Hello Dolly to your list for this weekend. You can catch Hello Dolly at The Straz Center, now until Sunday, December 9th. To see showtimes & dates, visit here.
As always, I do not want to spoil the show, but we meet Dolly, a Jill of all trades, with her nose in everyone’s business and always on the go. She is often too busy too busy to worry about her own needs and only take concern of others’. As I’m watching, humming & connecting with Hello Dolly, I am reminded of myself… and a simple phrase comes to mind – let love in.
While I am not the best at letting love into my life, or giving it time to happen – I know I am not alone, especially during the holidays. It is important to remember to always let love in – at least a little. Between the hustle and the bustle, we can often lose sign of what is most important. During this busy time of year, here are a few, simple ways to let love in.
let love in with song: Sing it out! Whether it is in the shower or in your car, it feels good to belt it out.
let love in with dance: Shake it, shake it! I loved the dancing in Hello Dolly, it reminded me of Disney!
let love in with friends: Take a minute, have that coffee break. Share a gift, let them help you. So often, friends are our chosen family, so share the love. It may sound silly, but I tell my friends I love them just like I tell my family.
let love in with family: Sometimes easier said than done – but your family will always have your back. If you do not see your family too often – a simple, quick text can speak a thousand words.
