There was a definite excitement behind Les Misérables coming to the Straz Center and it surpassed the hype. It was more than just a show, it was emotion, raw feelings, history, amazing costume designs, and an even more grand stage set. You do not want to miss it! I did come into the show blind – like I love to do… but walked away with a few pieces of advice to consider prior to seeing Les Misérables:
read up: I highly suggest to do a little research on the storyline prior to – I wish I had. Having an understanding of the basic story will allow you to enjoy the show even more. Every line is sung, so you will be paying uber close attention unless you have a general idea of the
eyes open. Be ready for some amazing sets. This was one of the most visually complex & pleasing shows that I have seen at The Straz Center in some time. The costumes. The set. The staging. The visual effects. They use the entire stage for the show – I felt like I was at DIsney!
open your ears. Really, put on your listening ears! This was probably the
a random note. The first act is long, longer than most shows – grab that restroom break before the show begins!
