It’s no secret I idolize my Dad; he is one of best men I know – so humble, giving, hard working & kind. The two of us have a great relationship – and I feel so lucky to have that with both of my parents.

I know that always living close to them has helped kinder our relationship – but the biggest attribute is enjoying a cold one, sitting, relaxing, chatting. Sometimes its the simplest things that have the best impact.

Speaking of grabbing a cold one – my current fave is Michelob ULTRA. I have always loves the cool, crisp taste of ULTRA, and you can’t complain about it being under 100 calories. Plus, it accompanies any meal, and doesn’t outweigh your efforts in the gym! May I suggest grabbing a cold Michelob ULTRA with you Dad this weekend 🙂

With any holiday comes gifts… In a world full of materialistic things, I have been doing more decluttering with my personal life, and trying to do the same when thinking of others – especially gifts. If I am giving a gift – above all, I want it to be special, but I want them to use and appreciate it – as in any gift! If you’re like me, and have not gone shopping for Father’s Day yet – wait – think about it – and maybe take one of my ideas below as your own:

give him a new experience. Does your dad love the outdoors? – try paddle boarding or kayaking. Does he love spending time in the kitchen? – take him to that new restaurant you’ve been wanting to try or find a cooking class to take. Does he love sports? – go catch a game, any game, live or even at his favorite local brewery. But instead of a new tie or pair of socks, give him something new to talk about.

relive an old memory. Whatever your dad loves to do – do that; and a hint, if it’s something they love, they don’t mind if it’s a repeat! Whether it’s a ball game, visiting a museum, or taking a walk on the beach. Sharing one of their passions with them – that’s the new memory they will hold onto.

something to add to that memory… yes, this would be a physical piece to the old or new experience – but will add to it! Gift him his favorite brew, or scotch. Visiting the driving range – new golf balls. Going paddle boarding, a gift card so he can get some new swim trunks. You catch my drift – instead of a random paper weight for his office, add to something you two get to do, or his favorite hobby. The catch – whatever you gift, try to be there when they use it!
