Update, thanks to Chef Ami, I was a chef three times last week! I am not a natural in the kitchen like my dad – my extent of cooking is scrambled eggs, a mean grilled cheese sandwich and a tasty Mexican bowl. But with Chef Ami, I cooked three amazing & delicious dishes, and dishes that I’ve never cooked before!
A little background on Chef Ami; they are a family owned and operated business, having started in Gainesville and moving to Tampa just a short three months ago.
Every week, there are three new recipes; all of these meals are meant to be made in just 30 minutes and run 400 – 700 calories per serving. Their goal is to utilize produce from local & organic farmer as much as possible.
Chef Ami strives to source their produce from local organic farms as much as possible; as the ultimate goal is to support the local economy. Using local also means that the ingredients coming to your door are fresher – often times, Chef Ami is 24 hours from farm to table. I LOVE this – I also appreciate #locallove and who can no to freshness!
Another aspect I appreciated about Chef Ami, they re-use all of their packaging; repeat customers can give back their empty packaging and it is picked up when new meals are delivered the following week. Yay for Mother Earth! I try to recycle as much as I can and appreciate when a company does the same!
The meals were delicious! The meals are meant for two people and the portions were perfect. What was most useful for me being given all of the ingredients. Since cooking is not my forte, I do not have many ingredients at home – just your basics. Besides salt, pepper & olive oil – it was perfect to be given everything, in the exact portions you needed for the recipe. Plus, coming from a non-cooker, the recipe was so easy to follow. I made each meal flawlessly, even my roommate approved of their taste!
Tampa friends, you want to try out Chef Ami. Signing up is easy, and the cooking is fun!
