#GIFF2017 ::: 10 Things: Patrick Wilson

#GIFF2017 ::: Patrick Wilson

#keepingitreal, we all have our #CelebrityCrush. Charity loves Johnny Depp; you put me in a room with Chris Pine or Ryan Reynolds and I would not be able to form a sentence… well little did I know that Patrick Wilson was Lauren’s celebrity crush.

After watching him receive the Career Achievement Award, thanks to GIFF, I now see why. *while both of our ‘fan-girl’ness came out, I promise we kept ourselves composed.

*thanks to the relationship with the Tampa Bay Bloggers and Big City Events I did receive complimentary tickets to experience the Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival in exchange for a blog post & social media love. All opinions are my own.

Not only is he easy on the eyes, but Patrick is humble, quite the family man, and very genuine. These were easy to compile —  ten awesome facts about actor Patrick Wilson.

But first, my favorite quote of the evening:

“You can get all the hardware you want in the world, but it really means nothing if you don’t have your family to enjoy it.”

> He’s actually from the Bay area and went to Shorecrest in St Pete.

> His dad, Mark Wilson was a news anchor with FOX 13 for over 17 years; I used to watch him on TV!

> Patrick gives credit to some of his success to being a thespian; he stated that being able to act with others at a young age, in high school and in college, made a big difference.

> He met his wife, Dagmara, in college, Carnegie Mellon University. She is absolutely stunning.

> He was asked, out of the movies he has been in, which was his favorite? *not gonna lie* I heard his first answer and didn’t remember the rest… WatchmenPatrick has also been approached in the past for other superhero & comic book movies — his next one is AquamanStraight from his mouth, “proud to be a part of the DC Universe.”

> He does not regret turning down any roles or opportunities.

> Not only did he receive the Career Achievement Award this past Saturday evening, but he earned one more… Best Dad Award from his youngest son. *needless to say the crowd melted.

> Patrick is wholeheartedly a family guy. Him & his wife have a three week rule — if they can control it, they will not be gone from home longer than three weeks at a time.

> He gives credit to Star Wars as an influential film for him, it “defined our youth.”

> #KeepingItReal, not all stars or public figures always get the best reputation. However, Patrick defies all odds and is 100% human, just like me and you. Lauren was absolutely beside herself (which was the cutest). One phrase that stuck out the most to  her was that Patrick said “It doesn’t matter your stage, just as long you’re happy.”

> Bonus! The man can sing! Before going to the event, I brushed up on the films that he had been in, and had completely forgotten and that he was in one of my favorites. A clip was shown of a few of the movies that Patrick had been in —  Watchmen … and Phantom of the Opera! Let’s just say I got all the goosebumps and this fan-girl did her best to sit still and not get too giddy.
