*thanks to the relationship with the Tampa Bay Bloggers and the Straz Center, I did receive complimentary tickets to see Disney’s The Little Mermaid in exchange for a blog post & social media love. All opinions are my own.
Growing up, The Little Mermaid was one of my favorites. If I recall correctly, I wore out the VHS, had a cassette tape too, and always pretended that I was Ariel each and every bath time. Those notes that she sings when giving her voice to Ursula?! Well, I hit those spot on each and every time, just ask my momma.
Now that I’m older, I side more with Ursula. I’ve had my hair purple, ran a half marathon dressed as her (even with fishnets!), and hold her as my spirit animal.
Needless to say I was a little excited for Disney’s The Little Mermaid to come to the Straz Center; you can catch a show now until July 16th. Visit here for full details and to purchase tickets. You can expect all of your favorite characters, bubbles galore and an amazing set for plenty of room for the fishes.
Many of us know the story of Ariel — her fins — her fishy friends — and the powerful King Triton. But here are a few lessons to be learned… that I managed to pick up on when I wasn’t swooning over Eric.
family does matter. …while they can sometimes drive us silly, we need them. Often times, they are our biggest supporters, encouragers — and always have our back, or fins.
animals can be the best of friends. This is no secret… I am grateful to always have a dog growing up. And although I live with a cat now, he’s a good fuzzy butt to have around.
body language — know what vibes you’re giving off. Why am I bringing this up?! Well…my favorite sea witch has a very valid point! Crossing your arms, you’re closed off. Hands on hips, you may be in charge. Or throwing your arms up, well you’re just plain excited!
Ursula…she has some real body confidence. Am I right?! She rocks it with no hesitations. We could all use a little bit of her confidence and remember not to care what others thing…
So while our cars get there quicker — swim your way over to Straz & enjoy the show, and all of zee bubbles!
