*thanks to the relationship with the Tampa Bay Bloggers and Roux I did receive the opportunity to taste all of their yummy dishes in exchange for a Twitter chat; since it was so amazing, I wanted to share here. All opinions are my own.
::: now let’s #BreakTheRouxles :::
To start, their cornbread is quite the hit with their weekend brunching. However, it tasted so good with those yummy crumbles on top, I would eat this as an appetizer for every meal.
These were my favorite; so tasty; just enough zing and crunch. Honestly, I would order these as my meal, they were that good.
The Boudin Balls, a crunchy outside, but one bite reveals a mix of pork, rice, seasoning, and fresh green peppers. Another good dish to start with…
Putting seriousness aside — because I’m rarely 100% serious 😉 — when I fist visited Roux, I had a ‘I can’t even’ moment…or four. Sebastian (yes, from the Little Mermaid) was on my plate!! I love me some seafood, but the full head, the antenna, oy vey. #keepingitreal
But…these three dishes deserve some love. The Seafood Etouffee is exquisite; the Seafood Gumbo is up for awards; and their Jambalaya is straight outta New Orleans; all delish.
The Maque Choux was another favorite of mine; subtle spicy mix of corn, tomatoes, green peppers; a true Louisiana dish.
And did you know yesterday was National Dessert Day? Did you celebrate?? Sangria was my dessert #notjoking. This beauty was divine ::: I am usually not a Bread Pudding fan due to the moist texture, but Roux made this perfect. Just sweet enough and not too rich; topped with smooth-like-velvet Buffalo Trace Bourbon butterscotch sauce. Mmmmmm…taste buds awake yet?
Thank you again to Roux & the Tampa Bay Bloggers for making our #TampaBayTuesday tasting possible. As always, you was a delight to try out your scrumptious, one of a kind plates. And of course it was fun to #BreakTheRouxles.
I am due for another trip to Roux soon but you might make me have to speed it up. Your pictures are awesome! I recently went for brunch and loved the crab cake beignets.
