Regardless of how hot, how long the line, how tired I may be or even if I start feeling goooood (because Uber is the bomb.com), I have always had the best time at the Tampa Margarita Festival put on by Big City Events.
*thanks to the relationship with the Tampa Bay Bloggers and Big City Events I did receive complimentary tickets to experience my fave, the Tampa Bay Margarita Festival in exchange for a blog post & social media love. All opinions are my own.
And guess what…it’s still my fave! I was drinking solo and still had a good time! 😉 But really, Big City Events puts a lot of hard work, time, and love into their events. In my opinion, this one was no different than ones of the past in being top notch. Yes…it was hot. Yes…I did wait for my margaritas for a bit while in VIP. But…I did some great people watching, sipped on the tastiest of margaritas, enjoy guacamole from Besito’s and listened to some great music.
And this year they added in a run before the Festival opened up; it included a festival ticket, one margarita, awesome bling, and a nice jaunt down the new Riverwalk with the best of downtown views.
Looking at the big picture, maybe I’m a little biased because it’s downtown Tampa … a festival focused on margaritas & tequila … and summertime? Oh well!
But with that being said, here are a few of my tips to make the most of your upcoming Summer Festivals.
plan ahead. [especially if you’ll be having some adult beverages] I know the event has given you a timeline of starting, ending, performances, tastings, etc. Take a second and check it out — make a soft game plan so that day of, you’re not showing up at the busiest time or show up and miss your favorite band. And don’t forget your to and from; I utilize Uber sometimes just so that I do not have to deal with parking!
your attire. Not only do you wanna plan to look cute [because for reals, the pics, the snaps, the IG posts! Ya feel me…], but you want to stay looking cute after a little sunshine & sweat and protect your skin. If you event is outside, think ahead! I always bring hand sanitizer, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a small sweat cloth [better to dab it off than be dripping!]. And if a hat works with the outfit, well you can expect to see me in one of my adorable lululemon ones. #noshame
hydrate. If you are a resident of the Sunshine State like myself, you know this is importante! I reeeeally don’t need to explain this one, just drink your H2O & be smart.
what NOT to forget. If you can, bring your own seat so you don’t have to share. Bring your friends, good times are just better with ’em! And bring your smile — you’re out & about enjoying the sunshine, good times, friends and maybe a tasty bite or drink!
