Everyone knows the tunes — the story line — the love story — the family ties — the Do-Re-Me!
Each of us loved The Sound of Music. #KeepingitReal, the movie is lengthy, you can get lost in the music — but not the broadway play! This is definitely a must see — for the family and even for date night! And, it is perfect for the holiday season, I found a few ways that a holiday message is tucked into the catchy tunes. Make sure to see it for yourself! The hills are alive now until Sunday, December 27th.

Spend time with those you love… Sounds so simple and we all know we should do it more. The Sound of Music reminds us how easy it can be to get pulled away…a busy job, a big family, prior engagements… Thankfully, during the holiday season, we all take the extra steps to spend time with those we love.
There is a lot of singing… I promise I am not being a smarty pants — but there really is! Name another holiday that includes so many tunes, caroling, and breaking out in song!?

Family isn’t always family… And sometimes our ‘family’ is everyone but our blood line. Each of ours is different — throw in some love, the quirky uncle, those friends that may understand you better than your mom…and you have that core group of people that makes your family.

We each have our own part in the universe… Taking it back old school, the original story of Christmas with the Virgin Mary — ever think that she was similar to Maria? Other than having similar names, when both of them received their calling, neither of them could believe it! They felt unworthy, could not understand that this was where their life would take them. But once they accepted — everything fell right into place, and well, you know how each story ends…
These are a few of ‘My Favorite Things’… I don’t know about you…but Christmas is full of my favorite things! The gift giving, the joy, the decorations (especially my family’s nutcracker collection), the traditions, my Dad’s holiday meal, and some presents are always nice.
