World of Beer has definitely made their mark in the Tampa Bay area. They’re the place to be for their full lineup of brews, prime spot to game day viewing, and we can’t forget their burgers & wings. Sounds awesome, right??
Well… what if your tastes are similar to mine? You enjoy beer, but spirits is really your pick. Burgers? Well, they’re my favorite food group — but I like to keep them for my cheat meal and indulge in the fries too.
So what’s my point??
Well, you need to make it to World of Beer. I promise. They’re making additions to their menu and diving into the creation of more spirited drinks.
Um, yes please!
*thanks to the relationship with Press Marketing, they did provide me with a delicious tasting in exchange for a blog post & social media love. All opinions are my own.
I joke that my second home is International Mall… I am at lululemon often, meet friends there for a drink, or go meander on my lunch break. I now have yet another reason to be in that area since WoB opened up a new location with some of the best seats in the house.
Best seats in the house?? Why yes… they are right across from the airport and in prime location to watch the planes take off and land. One of my most.favorite.things.ever.
*Don’t miss their GRAND OPENING! You can join on Thursday, October 27th from 6-8PM; this event will benefit the Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) with a raffle, silent auction plus donations. A great cause, puppies, and beer — you can’t go wrong there!
Back to my little review and without further ado, we dove right into appetizers.
German Pretzel with house-made Beer Cheese & Stone Ground Mustard || Cimichurri Meatballs || Calamari || Southern Fried Pickles || paired with 81Bay Lightning Lager beer
The German Pretzel was perfect for sharing (with all your friends) and the dips were a perfect match. I have not met a Calamari dish that I didn’t like… plus the Sriracha lime aioli dip was delish. I could have eaten an entire basket of the Southern Fried Pickles… so yeah. 😉 As for the 81Bay Lightning Lager — it local (yay!) and made with Florida beer lovers at heart; it is very light but full of taste and a perfect thirst quencher without making you too silly.
If you’ve met me, you know I am beyond picky about my salads and above all, my lettuce. However, this salad stole my heart.
Honestly, the name needs a makeover! The Spring Greens & Kale Salad deserves a name such as Best Salad Ever with All the Perfect Flavors…but that is a mouthful. Let’s just say that I finished my plate (and I normally only eat iceberg lettuce!) But it’s the perfect mix of goat cheese, pickled red onions, candied pecans with their house-made Framboise Vinaigrette. Great for a quick lunch, dinner to go, or to pair with a couple of their appetizers!
We also tried their Fresca Margherita; light but full of strawberries & cucumbers, its a tasty one for a lazy evening or girls night out.
Yes, that is German beer pictured above. And yes, it made my heart happy.
I always say that I left a part of my heart in Germany…three years later, it’s still the truth. I gladly indulged in the Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest beer with was perfectly accompanied by their Pork Schnitzel. The Schinitzel was packed with crunch, a little lemon zest and atop tasty garlic mashed potatoes and a warm Italian Kale Salad. Quite the hearty meal, but absolutely delicious and brought all the flavors, smells & tastes of Oktoberfest in Munich.
Because WoB crossed all their t’s and dotted all their i’s…dessert was really icing on the cake. We paired the deliciousness with their Kasteel Barista Chocolate Quad brew and stickily dove into the Belgian Waffle S’mores. Oh those waffles! They were made into adorable little sandwiches filled with toasted marshmallow and drizzled with Kahlua ridge sauce & powdered sugar.
Now…chocolate is great and all, but I prefer other sweets. After perusing their menu I noticed another dessert offered salted caramel. Let’s just saw our server made my day and I was able to top my waffles with Salted Caramel and was in heaven.
And in case I didn’t give you enough reason to try out the new World of Beer by International Mall… does trying over 500 different types of beer strike your fancy?!
Tia
I have eaten almost everything you mentioned in this post. I loved the kale and mashed potatoes with the schnitzel. The pretzel is a great group appetizer. And I love smores anything.
